Certification
What a certification means - and what it does not
A label is only useful if everyone reads it the same way. This page states exactly what a Best Place to Grow™ certification establishes, and exactly what it never claims.
What it means
A certification means that the assessed organization, within the declared scope, met the Employee Growth Standard at the time of assessment - on the evidence verified, the employee experience measured, the outcomes documented and the alumni perspective collected.
A declared scope
Legal entities, countries, sites and populations were fixed in writing before the assessment opened. The certification covers that scope and nothing beyond it.
A point in time
The decision reflects the conditions verified during the cycle, and is monitored - not assumed - for the rest of its validity.
Four independent sources
Employee experience, verified evidence, organizational outcomes and the alumni perspective. No self-declaration.
Every hard gate passed
All 8 hard gates were met independently. A good average never compensated for a failed gate.
What it does not mean
A certification does not mean:
- that every employee has the same experience
- that every employee will be promoted
- that the organization is perfect
- that the organization performs well financially
- that every team has identical growth conditions
- that no problem exists
- that the certification is permanent
Certification is evidence of a verified growth environment - not a guarantee of an individual's future.
Status of the Standard
A private, independent reference framework - stated as such
The Employee Growth Standard is a private, independent reference framework published by Best Place to Grow™. It is not an ISO standard, not a government standard and not a legally recognised certification. Any future accreditation will be published here with its issuing body.
